Passenger rights are important! When you travel in, to and from Europe, there is a body of legislation that gives you the right to be compensated when your flight has been delayed, cancelled, overbooked or if your schedule has been changed. On this page, you will learn everything you need to know about your rights, the exceptions and, most importantly, how to make sure you receive the compensation you are entitled to as a passenger.

The guidelines also state that in order to claim compensation for a flight delay, cancellation or denied boarding incident, the disruption must not have resulted from extraordinary circumstances.

If you do not receive appropriate assistance and/or care and therefore incur additional expenses, you are entitled to be reimbursed for what you have paid. Remember to keep your itemized bills and receipts. The claim for reimbursement can also be attached to your claim for compensation.

As defined in Regulation (EC) No. 261/2004, the total compensation you can receive is determined according to the flight itinerary and the distance between the departure and arrival airport. This takes into account the entire trip, including connecting flights.  Therefore, the distance between your departure airport and your final destination will determine the amount of compensation you can receive. Easyjet reservations

Except as provided in these Conditions, the non-use by the Passenger of the Ticket at the applicable time, in whole or in part, shall not give rise to any obligation on the part of the Carrier to return or refund the price of the Ticket. However, a Passenger who has not used his or her Ticket has the option to obtain a refund of the fees accrued in connection with the Passenger’s actual boarding. The request may be made by regular mail, Customer Service telephone or through the online net form. The reimbursement will be made within 30 days of the request, by crediting the same payment method used during the ticket purchase process. We bought tickets with Vueling for the month of August and I have been diagnosed with thrombosis and the doctors have advised me not to travel by plane. Can I claim the amount of the tickets?

Please refer to the section Commissions and charges. Charges depend on your flight and when you pay for checked baggage. Fees are always higher for checked baggage added at the airport. Check-in opens 30 days prior to departure. Before arriving at the airport to travel on your scheduled flight, you must Check-in Online and print your boarding pass, or download the mobile boarding pass .

Do you have an EasyJet flight you can no longer use? Life happens, plans change, trust us, we know! You have a few different options if you can’t use your flight. You can cancel it within 24 hours, you can change the dates or destinations of your flight or you can change the name on the ticket and sell it to someone else, getting a refund for your non-refundable flight.

In the unfortunate event that you are canceling due to serious illness or family bereavement, contact the EasyJet customer service team as soon as you can. If the date of travel has passed and your flights were not used, EasyJet will need to see a scanned copy of the death certificate.

You will be charged a fee for the change. The fees are shown below and are per flight. This means that the fee will be doubled if you have a return flight and change inbound and outbound flights. You will also have to pay the fare difference. This means that if the price of the flight has increased since you purchased the flight, you must pay the flight difference in addition to the change fee. If the flight price has decreased, EasyJet will not reimburse you for the difference. Cheeky, isn’t it? It’s always cheaper to change your flight online and as soon as possible. If there are less than 60 days left for the flight, the fees are higher, as it is more difficult for EasyJet to resell your original flight.
